internship

As part of my internship I'm required to document the daily events of my experience. I've decided to document it through blogging. I created an additional blog that's devoted specifically to my internship and my path to becoming an archivist.

For your reading pleasure - intern heavly!

I will be updating it daily (at least I'm supposed to be). Some days might be boring, others might be interesting. Hopefully more will be entertaining. Suggestions or ideas are welcomed as well.

/semester

I finished and handed in all my finals Monday night - now I'm just waiting on grades. Rather impatiently I might add.

The end of this semester is a big deal because it's the last time I'll have to take 3 classes at once. I can't WAIT to have only two classes to handle. I've heard the research seminar is hard work like taking 2 classes for the price of one, but at least its the same topic and professor.

This week I'm catching up on life, like bills, laundry, cleaning, and getting ready for the summer semester and moving. Ugh, moving. Oh and playing Plants v Zombies, which is only one of the best games ever.

Next week I start my summer internship which means I'll be working from 7-5pm. But at least from 1:30-5pm I'll be doing work that I love! I've been able to continue my internship at GW Special Collections Research Center working on the Riggs family papers. Until then, I will take advantage of every free second that I have being carefree and having fun!!

car update

Its been 3 or 4 weeks since I picked up my car and almost 500 miles which meant time for an oil change. With a baby engine I have to take very good care of my car, and most importantly ensure that I can maintain the warranty.

What I had noticed the past few weeks was that my engine was running hot. Sometimes while driving I've had to blast the heat to cool down my engine, which makes for a warm spring drive rather uncomfortable. Not only that, my check engine light decided to say hello for a day and a half and my coolant light joined in on the fun.

Luckily, no problems! The mechanic said there was an air pocket in my coolant and they flushed that out, changed my oil and ran a diagnostic on my engine and discovered a sensor they didn't replace was bad. All for zero charge! I like free. The engine is happy and so is my car :)
